1. Nature of the Appeal

This is a private, personal fundraising appeal established in Australia solely for the purpose of providing financial support to family members residing in Hong Kong. This is not a registered charity, non-profit organisation, or Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under Australian or Hong Kong law.

2. No Tax Deductibility

Contributions made to this appeal are considered personal gifts. They are not tax-deductible in Australia. Contributors should seek independent tax advice regarding the implications of their contribution.

3. Use of Funds and Transparency

All funds collected, minus platform or bank processing fees, will be transferred directly to the designated family members in Hong Kong for personal use. In accordance with the Australian Consumer Law, we are committed to honest and transparent communication. We will maintain records of all fund movements for at least five years to comply with all regulatory body requirements and/or inquiries.

4. Regulatory Compliance (Australia & Hong Kong)

  • Australia: This appeal is conducted in a personal capacity. It does not constitute a “financial product” or “investment service” as defined by ASIC.
  • Hong Kong: We acknowledge that Hong Kong authorities have proposed or enacted strict regulations on cross-border crowdfunding. We declare that these funds are for legitimate personal support and are not intended for any purpose that violates the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

5. Limitation of Liability

By contributing, you acknowledge that you are providing a voluntary gift. The organiser accepts no legal liability for how the funds are utilised once they reach the intended recipients, or for any changes in the recipients’ eligibility for government assistance in Hong Kong.
